Primary Objective of Position
Will direct the revenue management processes providing hands-on technical assistance to three properties in Miami Beach. Oversees and manages the rooms' forecasts and budgets, and rooms statistics maintenance. Will direct all new revenue management initiatives including enhancements to the e-yield system. Essential Functions:

  • Manage group block activity. Be responsible for management of group cut-off dates, securing and reviewing all rooming lists, monitoring group block activity (i.e. pickup, wash). When necessary or appropriate, communicate with group contacts. Manage the transient rate strategies. Work with Reservations, Sales, and Marketing in development of transient rate strategies, Internet and GDS. Analyze consumer-purchasing patterns including conversion rates, origination of call, purpose of visit, etc.
  • Facilitates and may lead weekly revenue management meeting. Provide group sales analysis and assist in developing the group pricing strategies. Analyze pace, lead time, lost business to support short and long-term booking and rate strategies, and forecasts and budgets.
  • Consult with director of sales and general managers on rate/inventory suitability of potential group business. Support the Sales and Marketing leadership team with quantitative and competitive analysis and identify, analyze and present opportunities to leverage new distribution channels. Manage the input of data and report generation for all distribution channels as well as customer databases. Analyze end of month reports and put together Revenue Management recap. Develop reporting that monitors effectiveness of our selling and rate strategies. Manage the rooms' statistics database and provide direction to automating compilation of this information. Manage internet marketing of hotel website to include, SEO, paid listing opportunities, and e-mail marketing. Oversee all rooms forecasting and budgets including the annual budget, annual forecasts, five-year forecasts, monthly forecasts, mid-month forecasts. Develop sales relationships with market managers of third party internet sites.
  • Provide direction to system enhancements and procedures of the PMS, Group Sales system, internet booking engine that contribute to improved efficiencies in the Reservations and Sales selling processes, and maximization of revenues. Implement and create strategic packages/offers to drive transient room nights. Develop decision support tools used for booking new business. Include demand forecasts, inventory and rate controls. Serve as the group's profitability analyst and champion to insure full participation (buy in) of all changes by all applicable department heads prior to implementation.
  • Manage the rooms' statistics data base and provide direction to automating compilation of this information. Complete special projects and analyses as assigned by the senior management. Maintain a perpetual competitive analysis. Perform other duties as assigned.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meeting is required.

Physical Demands

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Position requires outside sales calls, driving to and from business contacts, walking, sitting, standing for various length of time.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, vending, repetitive motions, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment including computers, FAX machines, copiers, printers and calculators. Must be able to type 50 wpm.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business – related field is required.
  • Prior Multi-site revenue management required.
  • Knowledge of South Beach Market strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to process new information quickly and respond aptly to change
  • Financial, quantitative and statistical analysis skill.
  • Solid project management skills, with ability to independently manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheets to manipulate large amounts of data and translate into meaningful analysis
  • Ability to interface with system/program specialists in order to develop and refine decision support systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communications skills, as well as public speaking
  • Ability to work both as a team member and a team leader to achieve results in a teamwork environment
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in multiple areas of the business.

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Trust Standards. Sales Manager must dress in professional, business attire at all times.
